For the price, this sub cannot be beat. Sounds crisp, and tight. For a living room, it is plenty of bass to run anything from movies, to music. A good upgrade from the ''Home theater in a box''. Also has both inputs and outputs, so you can plug in a couple speakers. Oh the description is wrong, it is a downfiring sub, not front firing. You can buy this and have it sent to your doorstep for under $100, it is an excellent value.

I bought this sub-woofer to compliment my Bose Acoustimass 5. I can only turn it up about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way or else it overpowers the system. It has a very clear sound, and moves a ton of air. After a hard day at work I put on some Van Halen, crank it up and get a full body massage.
I had ground loop hum when I first hooked it up, and it is easy to fix. First turn on the stereo and sub, but don't play any music. Disconnect the input from the back of the sub. If the hum disappears you have a ground loop problem. Plug the input back in and the hum will come back. What you need to do is run the largest multi-strand copper cable you can get between the sub and amp. I used a pair of 12 gage speaker wires and the hum disappeared completely. To hook it up, loosen a screw on the back of the sub, wrap the wire around it and re-tighten. Do the same thing on the amp and your problem is solved.

This 10'' down firing subwoofer moves SERIOUS air!!!! Has all the connections you need Hi-level in/outs, Lo level in/outs, phase control, variable crossover and volume. I use it to listen to music as well and it packs a very solid, clean punch (not boomy). Mind you, I have the crossover set to 60Hz and let it handle eveything below it. Blends pretty well with my front tower speakers. I live in an apartment and I can only set the volume to 1/3 - can you imagine anything over 50%? The ceiling will come down!
Of course, the material, workmanship is on the average scale and the manual is missing...but at this price??? Nothing can touch it.

Pretty good subwoofer! Has both R/L low level and R/L Speaker level inputs AND OUTPUTS. I got the hum that one of the other reviewers got, but after some web research I found the cause was a ''ground loop'' between the subwoofer and my dolby receiver. This will cause a hum on any subwoofer. Once the ground loop was fixed the hum disappeared.

The quality of construction is not the greatest - but I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. I use it with full range speakers so I keep the crossover turned down pretty low - but it performs better than I expected. An excellent deal when you take the price into consideration.
I don't find that mine hums either, like the last reviewer.
